Matt Dowling brings to Harrisburg common sense, real-world skills, conservative values, and an understanding of the concerns of our families that helps him make a positive difference for everyone in the 51st District.
Born and raised in our community, Matt graduated from Uniontown Area High School and later earned a degree from Waynesburg University. Today, he and his wife Rebecca are raising their two sons here, and instilling in them the same values that so many of us share.
An entrepreneur and local small business owner, Matt founded his own small business, Coordinated 360, nearly a decade ago, and worked for eight years as Development Director for the Boy Scouts of America Westmoreland Council, where he helped coordinate the delivery of youth development programs. In 2016, Dowling took an unpaid leave from the Boy Scouts to run for State Representative. His experience operating a small business plays an important part in his effort to attract jobs to the area has done something the politicians of the past haven’t: actually created jobs. In Harrisburg, he uses this real-world experience to help
As a husband and the father of two young children, Matt understands the priorities and concerns of local residents. It is this understanding that he carries with him to Harrisburg to fight for common sense solutions on issues that affect our community.
Matt is also an active and dedicated community volunteer who gives his time and effort to numerous local civic organizations. He and his wife created a fund in conjunction with the Community Foundation of Fayette that helps raise funding for local non-profits; together, they founded the annual “Share the Spirit” event that has provided tens of thousands of dollars to help the people of our community.
Matt is also a member of Rotary, having serving as the current District Governor for a seven county district, an active member and former Director of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, a former member of the Uniontown Planning Commission, and a former member of the Fayette County MHMR (now Behavioral Services) Board.
A real conservative, Matt is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, is pro-life, and believes that our elected officials must protect from infringement of our Constitutional Rights.
